Medium garnet in color; cherries, plums, and graphite on the nose; medium acidity; medium tannins; tastes like black cherries, figs, and clay pots with a long peppery finish. Nellie doesn't like it. She says it's too smoky and too acidic. I think it leans a little too far into the minerality and not enough fruit, but it's still pretty good. After more time in the glass, all the fruit disappeared and I'm left with smoke, graphite, and oak. I'm losing my tasting. I think it's past its drinking window.

Reads richer than a merlot. Still light bodied but a good fruit forward feel

ABV like on the fortified wine. Should be chilled 15•C and drank young.
