Simple label. Homemade wine style. Color is nice. Smells a bit funky. Fruit stew and firewater. Flavor is very jammy with a hint of peppery warmth. A bit less complex than foothills Zin can be when perfected. Also a bit hot with an alcohol content of 15% ABV. It’s not as great as some vintages have been, but it’s a nice bottle at a great price from Trader Joe’s.

Dec 19th, 2021This a lighter style of zin. Smells like caps. And tastes like cherries and berries. Flavors are tart, juicy and complex. This is a go to.

May 26th, 2021Good, might be over shadowed by the Bar’Bear’a. Can’t taste any of the notes they stare in the description. It is medium bodied and tannin heavy.

Feb 23rd, 2020Nice Zin from the Sierra foothills. Jammy, peppery, mostly dry, with nice acidity and tannins. Could have been even nicer with less raisin, and less heat on the finish - just a bit too ripe for my taste.
