Vieilles Vignes Alsace Sylvaner
My first sylvaner. Quite enjoyable for the price point. Menthol, licorice root, nose with ripe apples, underripe apricot and baking spice. Bright wine with crisp acidity, medium bodied with a medium finish. The nose translates to the palate well. Apples, stone fruit, cinnamon, clove and a vegetal element all come through. Herbaceous finish. A touch of butter from being oaked. Quite lovely. Id spend 12$ on this anyday. Would pair well with scallops, crab legs or lobster imo.

Oct 28th, 20142009. A honeyed wine. Paired with a rich sugar salted salmon and horseradish dish. Holds it own but with a velvet finish and little aftertaste
