Medium plus Ruby red in colour. Initial note of menthol and a strange ether note which blew off. Intoxicating aromas waft out of the glass of dark cherry and pipe tobacco. On the medium + weight palate, dark cherry, and a chocolate note but the overall impression is one of balance and resolved, fluid tannins. Smooth and rich. We both loved it with Roast Pork. Silky - not unlike the tannin structure of an old Grange or Hill of Grace. One of the great wines of the world for a good reason. I hope to get the opportunity to try another bottle sometime in the future. 80% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet and some unknown varieties. Reminiscent of a First Growth Bordeaux from a good year. One of the 1001 Wines.

I feel as if this would be amazing if not following the Rayas. Great nose but pretty wound up and tight still. Didn't open up much after being in glass an hour. Need to revisit.
