From a nice old-looking bottle with a fill into the neck. Reddish tawny color. Bright fruit-forward nose. Notes of red fruit, spice, red flowers, mint and some moist forest earth. Great aromatics. Decent fruit remaining with nicely integrated tannins and great, balanced structure. This improved over the evening... quiet at first (despite 4+ hours of decanter time), but showed its stuff later on.

Double trouble. 1st bottle getting there, with some fruit still intact and a campfire, underbrush character, while 2nd was grippy and totally in denial about its age, basically the Madonna of wines. Both had tons of Asian spices (ginger, curry, cola). 💖

Powerful and intense red plummy fruit. A touch of varnish on the nose then lovely poise and a long sweet palate with settled vanilla. Sexy, rounded and pretty.
