Brezo de Gregory Pérez Mencía
No notes. Competent Bierzo, but for 6$ more its 2015 brother completely outshines it. Still, for 10$…

Jan 5th, 2024Grapey/foxy. Jammy, plummy, and brambly. A whiff of VA. Spicy, irony, and stony. Elevated acidity, low tannin. Dark ruby, elevated concentration and relatively deep staining. Medium body.

Apr 27th, 2018Cherry cola, dark berries, touch of sweet green herb/mint and spice(stem/whole-cluster?), faint purple flowers, earthy/gravely. Good acid for the ripeness level and moderate tannins. Thoughts went to Syrah or a 2013 Morgon.
Delicious and priced really well.

Sep 3rd, 2016Gregory's negociant label, this Mencía has a bit of Garnacha Tintorera thrown in for acid, color and structure. All tank, definitely Galician glou-glou!
