No notes. Competent Bierzo, but for 6$ more its 2015 brother completely outshines it. Still, for 10$…

Grapey/foxy. Jammy, plummy, and brambly. A whiff of VA. Spicy, irony, and stony. Elevated acidity, low tannin. Dark ruby, elevated concentration and relatively deep staining. Medium body.

Cherry cola, dark berries, touch of sweet green herb/mint and spice(stem/whole-cluster?), faint purple flowers, earthy/gravely. Good acid for the ripeness level and moderate tannins. Thoughts went to Syrah or a 2013 Morgon.

Delicious and priced really well.

Black cherries, tart red apple skin, a hint of bitter cherry pit too. Fine tannins and enough acidity to keep you coming back for more.

Gregory's negociant label, this Mencía has a bit of Garnacha Tintorera thrown in for acid, color and structure. All tank, definitely Galician glou-glou!
