92/100 The top offering from Ramon Bilbao, 2 years in French oak and bottled without filtering. They produce 4M bottles but this Tempranillo has won a Gold medal. Wow freshly opened bottle and the classic Rioja nose was immediately apparent. Aged mature plums, smoked wood, depth with a nod to reverence of Rioja. Soft round palate yet not lacking in power but an example of balance between Tempranillo fruit mellowed by oak aging. Very nice finish.

Excellent expression of Tempranillo. Powerful with great fruit complimented by a healthy dose of new oak. What will surprise you is the high acidity.
