An old legend has Cistercian monks leaving cuttings of Pinot Noir at monasteries in northern Spain while on pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela (Though there is no scientific connection between Tempranillo and Pinot Noir). Spanish conquistadors may have brought Tempranillo vines to the New World.

Nice medium body red. Good with food or on its own once it's had a while to breathe.
