🇪🇸 2008 Tempranillo. Oak matured and aged 18 months. Medium dry body with notes of vanilla and black cherry 🍒. Smooth finish with mellow oak taste. I am thinking roast lamb would be great with this one. 13 % ABV. 🍇

Pale garnet in colour; translucent from rim to core. Sour cherries, sandalwood and vanilla on the nose. Medium body, dry with surprisingly balanced acidity. Plums, figs, cedar and fresh leather make up a long rolling finish.

It’s quite tangy. A little acidic. Grows on the palate. A rather nice finish but of alcohol. The other person rating this says it was on sale for $8, and I likely over paid. Better than a standard sub $10 wine, but not by much. Tart, abrupt, and harsh with only a small palatable finish that might get me through the bottle.

I’m loving Tempernillo lately. This is a thoroughly enjoyable bottle at a really great price. Don’t make the mistake of thinking the 10 year version will be better. Three years didn’t make the difference here. Stay young. I give this a Honey Bee on the Tom Petty scale. A solid rocker that’s bound to get a smile on the face every time. (Wifey likes it too so you know it’s got some dirt!)

How is this wine in sale for $10?! TEN DOLLARS! Tastes like a $25 Spanish wine. Slightly oaky. Leathery notes.
