2009. Still on the young side, just hitting its stride. Pronounced oak quieted down as we hit the second hour. Deep, complex, layered fruit. Graphite, black cherry, and wet stones on the nose and in the mouth. Full bodied. Refreshing acid. Long, lingering finish. Now I just wish we had held it at least another year or two.

I just don't find the pleasure in this wine that I should receive for the price. Luis Gutierrez of The Wine Advocate gave the 2010 vintage 95 points which I can't seem to explain because his palate usually doesn't find pleasure in bold tannic wines like this one. It's a nice drink but not for the price.
