Violet red, some legs. Cherry vanilla nose with chocolate and a touch of vegetal sharpness. Acid is a bit aggressive on the tongue, as are the tannins (for a Tempranillo), making this a little raw-feeling on its own. Finish accrues clingy tannins, and delivers more chocolate, cooked black cherries, and the "tomato leaf" vegetal note from the nose. Nothing really strikes me about this wine. It would be ok with tapas, but I wouldn't buy again over other $10 Tempranillos I've had, some of which offer truly glorious caramelly oak notes and a softer, more balanced palate.
