Vendimia Seleccionada 2001. Good, old-fashioned Rioja made by a contemporary maker. Nice old oak on the nose, good fruit on the palate, and nice texture on the mouth.

Do not drink 2001 Rioja. They are great and meant for the long term. Smoldering, dark cherry, whiff of tertiary. All promise.

2001. Smells like Spain. Smells like Oak. Wine a bit overwhelmed by vanilla, American oak. Fruit very bright. Surprised this was 13yrs old.
