Big funky earthy nose. Huge oak and big but well integrated tannins. 36 mos American oak and at least 36 month in bottle. Fantastic Rioja.

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Nose has cedar box, plum skin, milk chocolate (light), dry green herbs (light), blackberry, dried cherry, cocoa powder and cut red pepper.
Palate has ripe plum, cedar sawdust, ripe blackberry, espresso bean (light), mocha and roasted red pepper (light).
Absolutely beautiful bottle, could hold 10+ more years, last bottle of course, yet amazing, such a long finish, like wow, everyone paid attention to this bottle at dinner.

Happy International Tempranillo day!

Nose of under-ripe cherry juiced onto dry soil, old leather and a light, green herbal note.
Palate has raspberry/cherry juice, tannins still lightly grip, mashed green & red peppers, faint cedar profile.

80% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 5% Mazuelo & 5% Granciano

Big boy with all its oak but it does seem week integrated and still nice acidity. Good wine.

Correct older styled rioja. Yes the American oak is there but also nice earthiness and complexity.
