Light, almost translucent purple with thin edges. This is one of those wines that you will probably just skip right over at the store unless the label speaks to you. I’m fortunate that it did because it’s just plain enjoyable. All dark fruits upfront on the nose with white pepper and tobacco. There’s just the faintest element of funk going on here but not enough to make the headlines. It’s a clean, straightforward Garnacha that isn’t overly complex, which is just a nice way to say that it’s a simple wine. Medium bodied and highly approachable, this is straight up pop and pour. Very juicy, with blue and blackberries on the palate joined by light spice and leather. You may not remember drinking this wine but you’ll be glad you did.
