Oct 2nd, 2015Classic Rioja from a new school modern styled producer. Lots to like here and very buttoned up. Sturdy structure and maturity setting in on the black and red fruits and judicious oak.

An excellent wine. Paired beautifully with a steak. Tasted oak, tobacco, blackberry, and balsamic. Very satisfying finish. A lovely gift from great friends.

Needs time to open, and probably a bit too young. But once open, excellent with a long finish, good acid, and a full mouthfeel. Had at Asador Alameda in Fuenmayor.
