This has to be one of my favorite Painted Reds to date. Classic, mellow Virginia Cab with beautiful CF and PV tannins.

May 7th, 2018Holy $hit - 33% Merlot, 31% Cab, 21% PV, 16% Cab Franc. These Virginia grapes smacked me in the face... in a good way (I think).
I've tried every vintage of Painted Red and this by far has the most depth.
1 hour decant and still needs a bit.

My memories of this bottle were clouded by the many other Virginia's wines I had tasted. Its not bad, but when it follows a much more robust Cakebread, then this just falls flat.

Excellent. Smooth with a black cherry taste. I strongly recommend this wine. Wish I had more.
