Finger Lakes Syrah
Dark ruby red. Very bold - black raspberries and pepper. A hint of alcohol taste. Not the best finger lakes Syrah I've had but pretty good from a region that makes this grape tough to grow!

Dec 9th, 2015Have loved previous vintages but this one is a bit less Rhone. Vanilla-tinged Robitussin-style red cherry. More modern.

May 1st, 2015Absolutely phenomenal vintage in the FLX! I don't get any of the red cherry that other people said in their ratings. If I tasted it I would let you know how disgusted I'd be with a Robitussin red cherry aroma or flavors. I get NONE of that. Medium purple in color...gorgeous! I get dark currant and subtle pepper on the nose. Balanced, light pepper, more earth, tobacco, tar than fruit. I love it. Finish is moderate in length but has a smokey characteristic to it! Absolutely could go longer in storage but is still delicious if drinking now.

Oct 1st, 2017Governors Cup Winner (first dry red winner ever) from last year. It's been laid down for approximately a year in my cellar. Slightly smokey, hints of vanilla, violets, and black cherry. Aromas match the flavors on my palate. Finish is spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Northern Rhone in style. Amazing potential for NYS dry red wines. Props to the Aliperti's!!!
