This wine is somewhat of a unicorn being made from vines planted in 1868 believed to be the oldest Pinot Meunière vines still being used to make wine in the world. I decanted this wine but probably no need as there was zero sediment. Colour was a transparent light Ruby red. A palate of bright red cherries with a toffee note. Light to medium weight palate. Not as complex as an older example I once tried which was stunning and different. This has a long life ahead of it. This is the first of 3 and not ready yet.

Some of the oldest Pinot vines in the world and it really shows. Deep, dark and brooding, dusty, intense and funky. Pinot (noir) notes but a much more savoury feel. Very bloody interesting.
