Jun 27th, 201701' Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. On my travels last year through Italy, I stopped by a wine tasting room(I know shockingly) enjoyed a glass of this 2001. Remembering it being very well-balanced and quite enjoyable by itself. Thoroughly enjoyed this with some dry aged cheese(don't recall the cheese).
Leathery, raisin, flashy notes to this wine. Not very powerful at this time. Even on it's soon to be decline, it's tasting wonderfully now.

Rich cherry fruit, mainly an unctuous wine
