This was one of the treats of the festival. It was in perfect shape and somewhere around its precipice.

The comment made by the women representing it was, she stopped pouring it to many as they simply didn’t appreciate and or understood what they were just poured. If you understand how this is made and the extra process to make good examples, you develop
#respect

Not a wine for everyone, but amazing with this kind of age and older.

So bright and perky for a 14 year old wine made from dried grapes! So bright and perky period, actually. Red-fruit forward but with plum fruit leather and dried apricot but like soaked in a brine of incense—there’s spice and leather hiding in there but the fruit leads the way. Heady. At least in alcohol department it’s a stunner in a leather jacket on a bike but once it escorts you to your picnic sport it’s all fancy, brie, baguette and grapes it may even peel for you (except not that because it’s tannins are so appealingly ripe).
It finishes like a likely spiced cordial who also knows how to spar, light on its surprisingly sturdy toes.

Blend of 80% Corvina Veronese, 20% Rondinella, deep Ruby with aromas of dried fruits, savory spices and smoky notes. On the palate sweet plum and cherry flavors, savory, with citrus, licorice, espresso, pepper and cacao. Soft tannins, chewy on long finish, great balance with acidity, nice mouthfeel, ending with a nutty oaky character.

Holy cow... 30 years and this wine is incredible! It hadn't lost ANYTHING. The fruit was gorgeous - velvety Luxardo cherry reduction, gravel mineral tones, fresh flowers on the nose, dried prunes.. they don't make wine like this in Valpolicella anymore I can tell you that much. This wine in the vintage could go to 40 or 50 years of age.

TAR?! 🌋You mean that pungent asphalty, road-paving smell?...in WINE?! 😱 Yes, certain types of wine - such as some #Rhone reds, #Barolo, and #Amarone -can show subtle scents of tar. Many grape nuts like me relish 🙏 the aroma, especially when its minerally essence mingles with black fruit, flowers, and spice, like it does in this rich, powerful '07 Cantine #Bertani Amarone. So good I may report it to the (paved) Highway Patrol. 🚔

Quite balanced and not the overripe alcoholic juice bombs a lot of Amarone's aspire to. Quite elegant, with a medicinal herb finish. Distinct. Tasting it young surprises me that this can age so long as I've had vintages going back to the 60's & 70's.

Nice complexity in flavor. High acidity helps balance the high alcohol. Will continue to gain complexity
