Nice zin with solid earthy notes without being overpowering.

Dec 3rd, 2021Kinda rusty color with some ruby. Smells like smokey, super ripe strawberries. Not exactly a classic Zin nose, more subtle. Flavors are pretty jammy and smooth. Bit of cherry jam later. It’s a lighter style. Perhaps Zin for those who aren’t into the bombastic ones. Valley Zin that drinks like coastal.

Jun 9th, 2021Grape jam, jelly. (But the good kind). Kinda fruit fierce, but not too overwhelming. Elegant, simple and smooth.

Feb 14th, 2019Bit of heady, meaty nose. Red fruits and smoke. Balance is great with tannins and smoke in there. Kinda a balancing act between the two CA Zin styles. Hits the spots.

May 30th, 2017This is my second tasting notes ever. Aroma is 7/10 fruity like a lot of Cali zin, combined with sweet new Cali oak vanilla to provide a heavy fruit nose overall. However, the flavor argues against the oak, lacking any cover-up plastic taste. Was this only aged in new oak for a few months before bottling? Kinda reminds me of dry hopping beer, as it has the aroma without a strong vanilla oak flavor. Medium-high body with a hint of sugar/caramel but low viscosity. Absolutely no meniscus qualities to be seen at all. Would drink again, recommend with highly contrasting foods like cheese or creamy pasta, but not a big winner overall
