Yet one more vintage of one of my go to Yolo County wine. Color is pretty. Dark red with a hint of rust on the edge of the wine. Smells like books, wet gravel and pomegranate molasses. (& maybe blackstrap molasses too). Flavors of chalk, elderberry/cherry syrup, unlit cigar, and herbs. Something slightly musky here. More of the French than the low cost Argentine style in this. This is a unique and lovely CA wine. All French wine lovers should try it.

Nice dark color. Plenty of extraction in this one. Smells perfumed and juicy. Hint of blackberry jam? Flavor is also ripe & juicy. Not quite as old world as some other vintages. Has a bit more roundness and suppleness. Still a nice dry and elegant red. Plenty hail and hearty as well. Just a bit more fruit driven this time around. It’s still different and much more intriguing that most of that Argentinian, meh Malbec out there.

Just as tasty as the other vintages. Balanced and juicy. Plenty of old world bitter bite. A Malbec for those who want French over Argentine.
