This was our night cap. A bit disappointing. On the lighter side, cherry, blackberry, some licorice, very light tannins and light acidity. Easy to drink.

Jan 25th, 2020The bottle ageing on this wine (it's an '08) made for an interesting adventure. At first the fruit was so muted almost to the point of being forgotten. But given some time to open up the fruit started to reemerge. Color wise this one has turned into a brownish-brick-magenta. The nose brings mostly black and dried fruits, specifically currants, raisins and figs. There's also a bit of decomposing forest floor, but with a sweet jammy edge to it. The palette, having breathed for a while, starts with silty black earth, followed by the aforementioned dried fruits. What starts out fairly flat and straightforward gains some decent complexity if given time.
