Medium purple, the 2019 Syrah Quintessence from Switzerland’s Rhône Valley is worth chasing down. The nose is quite fragrant with well defined aromas of blackberry, raspberry, violets, orange blossom, fennel, wood smoke and hints of game. The mouthfeel is super smooth with juicy, concentrated flavors, medium body, vibrant acidity and fine grained tannins. The distinctive freshness and floral expression are quite remarkable. Drink from 2024 until 2040.
