This is a single vineyard 2014 Syrah from Bell Canterbury vineyard, block 6 in the Sierra foothills. The wine is unfiltered. I shall write more appropriate tasting notes in the near future, all I can say now is OMG!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!! This wine retails for around $60.

Nose is an intriguing mix of roasted pork, cranberry, moss, earth, with a hint of smoke. (Smoke is not surprising given this is a syrah.)

On the pop and pour: HOT! The alcohol is still heavy on this one! Need to give it time to breathe.

After 5 mins in glass: The nose keeps getting stronger with the roasted pork. First time I have experienced that in a wine! Palate is backing away from the alcohol. Now there are strong earth notes comig through. There is also an interesting floral character on the mid palate (Carnations?) Finish is super long and complex. There is fruit, but its NOT a fruity wine. Anthony has done a really nice job coaxing a complex wine from his fruit! I feel rather badly for opening this wine about 3 years too soon!
