The Answer Red Blend

Substantial red blend. Well constructed. Decanted for an hour.

After a private tasting with the Behrens team, I bought this for dinner. Great wine and a wonderful experience at the tasting room. I really enjoy Behrens wines and this Cabernet from the strong 2013 vintage is another good example of their work. Enjoyed in a restaurant from the bottle, would have been even better with an hour or two of air.

Deep ruby color. Nice floral tones on the nose with violets and lavender as well as black currants and tobacco. Juicy and very soft on the palate at this point with restrained tannins and acidity. Blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Petit Verdot.

Needs to open up but already a stunner. Deep purple with wild berry on the nose. Plum, currant and melted licorice along with a savory and mineral character. Wood is present but not overwhelming. Lush with supple tannin. Probably should have given it a couple of years but couldn't wait. Some things I just have to have now!

Decanted for three hours. Still young but was great with food.
