Ripe, rich dark purple juicy juice. These wines need a couple years to lose their baby fat and integrate the alcohols, tannins, and abundant fruit. But California Zin rarely drinks better. Ripe blackberry, black cherry, hints of stem, touch of oak masquerading as tobacco and leather. Long, smooth finish. Only a handful of California winemakers approach this level. Serve w/anything off the grill.
