Beauvignac
AOP Picpoul-de-Pinet
Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul-de-Pinet, Languedoc, Languedoc Roussillon, France
2024 vintage. First Picpoul Blanc to date I’m ashamed to say, but was not disappointed. Pale yellow in color, decent floral aromas not too dissimilar from a Sauvignon Blanc, but a drastic difference in the taste; crisp apple and pear on the palate but less of that classic flinty mineral finish. Decent acidity, lightly structured. This would’ve paired nicely with some local Chesapeake crab cakes.
