Smells like black cherry and very subtle baking spice. Tastes the same, with a tiny bit of added strawberry. Tea-like tannins. Medium weight, thin-ish. Anonymous wine with no off flavors but nothing to particularly recommend it - not my style. Based on this bottle: the high scores from pro reviewers are nonsense. Typical inexpensive European wine. Not worth the price: many comparable bottles for much cheaper. EDIT: ANOTHER REVIEWER MENTIONED POMEGRANATE AND I AGREE. UNDERRIPE POMEGRANATE.

Pretty inexpensive, but I actually quite like it.

France. Red. Languedoc-Roussillon.
I like Southern Italian reds which tend to be fruity and bold. This French one was just as fruity and a little less bold but really great. Blueberry, dried cherry notes. Has beautiful red color. I really liked the flavor. I think it would be good for company. Less than $15. Went well with my mushroom risotto. 14.5% alc. by vol. Syrah and Grenache.

Candied plums, black raspberry, spicy black pepper, and hints of rhubarb on the nose. Lush and smooth, with accents of tobacco and sage over plum and boysenberry fruit. Finishes in balance with length. Alcohol is kept in check. Great a QPR.
