So, here's the story with this. Apparently it was the brainchild of McPrice Myers and Russell From. Russell is the owner of Herman Story, which I obviously have an affinity for given my icon here! Sounds like they had a had breakup and Myers got Barrel 27. He's renamed it Blue Collar so this is being liquidated.

At $19, there is tremendous value here! Near black in the glass. Clove, cedar & sweet oak dominate the nose. Blackberry and cassis on the palate. Good acidity. Moderate tannins. Finish lingers for about 10seconds.

Berry, butter, smoky BBQ nose - very nice. Thick soft tannins, with butter and berry on the tongue.

Didn't like it as much as we remembered. Drank in 2017, 1 yr past recommended date, but still... Not much tannic finish. Balanced but a bit too much baking spice. Paired with grilled meat, which should be fine and it held up. Just not as interesting as we'd hoped.

I didn’t see the back label until after purchase. But hell ya!!!!

My notes from before still stand. Slight improvement with 2012 vintage. Great verve here.

Dark grape flavor and medium to heavy body. Aged 22 months in 40% new French oak but oak is not overpowering. Excellent value for the price.
