Bardos
Sauvignon Blanc
Comparative tasting : same varietal, same vintage, very different wine 😁
This one is a Hungarian Sauvignon Blanc. I might have been tricked had I to identify the varietal blind as the nose is a bit muted and had a bit of a petroly thing at first. Now it's gone and grapefruit took the stage, with elderflower notes lingering in the background. There is a passion fruit or guava note too, which is very discreet. The palate is extremely dry and acid driven. This is long and very vertical. There are a some grapefruit notes all along but there is not much matter or fruit in there, it's all tense and vivid. Much less opulent and lush than the previous new Zealand SB I tasted, much more subtle, almost shy but developing some interesting notes that are consistent with the varietal. A tad bit better in my opinion than the NZ one.
