Badel 1862
Pelješac Plavac
Interesting stuff here....brought home in a suitcase from Croatia. Seemingly similar to Sangiovese but had a bright cherry flavor that was lifted by a slight bit of residual sugar. 11% alcohol

Aug 31st, 2015New variety for us. Somewhere between Chianti and Pinot. Floral aromatics and sour cherry/acid on palate. Great, tight structure. Even a little old world leather in there. Very good with crispy skin salmon.

Jul 11th, 2022This wine is ubiquitous in Croatia...they even sell it at the gas station. But it’s not as bad as I assumed. Juicy cherry, very drinkable. Not world class, but very decent.
