It still could age, but was drinking beautifully. Nice medium body, cherry core, dried currant, bay leaf, a hint of pepper, old leather, tannins were substantial but not overbearing. Fantastic with both a bolognese sauce and a pizza with truffles and egg.

VA hits upfront and blows off. Dusty black cherry fruit, black licorice and Unami. Sweet red cherry turns tart on the mid-palate with graceful tannins to finish. Give this a short decant.

Not for LN. She likes that is a wine, but "don't think it takes bad, but don't think it has the fullness I like" -- reddish brown color, not very thick. Mom liked that. "Not heavy on the tongue, you know?" Not too fruity, some fall spice flavors. I liked it.
