Fairly textbook Napa Syrah from Kirk Venge. Normally B Cellars is all about the blends, but this dark, smoky Syrah is loaded with dark fruits, vanilla, and sandalwood. Really fun.

Drinking differently than I remember last time. I mostly get salt/minerals on the palate. There are dark fruits, cedar and leather on the nose, which press through the minerality at times. Followed by strong tannins.

Completely different style than the '09 Venge syrah we had recently. Kirk's wines at b cellars are tone downed compared to Venge, which allow the varietals to really stand out. Palate is more fruit forward than nose suggests. Olive. I would say drink up if u still have it.

Very tasty, great fruit and acidity/tannin integration, intense but elegant & a lip smacking finish
