Pleasantly surprised. Very new world, round and perfumed but masterfully oaked and firm on the plate.

Really nice flavor and great intensity with this unfiltered and raw fullness of fruit. Lots of oak influence.

How can one go wrong when it's got Caldwell Syrah juice in it. Very elegant, not over the top the acid and body are in line.

Interesting new direction of blend 25, which is usually a cab/syrah blend similar to ones found in australia. This one is 56% petite sirah, 35% cab, 9% syrah. I believe this was due to the fires. I think petite sirah is one of kirk venge’s best varietals so this is a nice version. Only downside is it is a bit pricey at $82. 93-94

A lovely fruit forward fragrant nose of black and blueberries. It opened up well expressing a wonderful mouth filling smooth, mild tannins which enhanced the steak and salmon continuing to recall the fruit in our mouths it finished with a soft lingering burn like a warm summer kiss at the end of the night.
