The wine I have chosen tonight is a little bit different, the 2010 Sante'Elena Cabernet Franc from the Friuli region of Italy. I love cabernet franc and I don't venture to far from the Loire Valley of France but maybe now I should venture out more often.
The nose is very expressive with notes of strawberry jam, red raspberry, plum, green bell pepper, smokey oak, a bit of funk and dry gravel.
On the palate the red fruits come through with strawberry, red plum, and red raspberry. The green bell pepper is in abundance with licorice, sweet oak and finishing off with chalky dy gravel.
The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that lead right into a long enjoyable fruity finish. A very nice gratifying wine that has changed my mind and is making me search out other cabernet franc that may be around the next corner. Deep ruby, raspberries, strawberries, wet stones, leather on the nose. Med + tannins, med + acidity. Med + body. Strawberry jam, raspberry, plums cranberries primary flavors with hint of vanilla pencil pencil shavings pepper and touch of and leather. Paired surprisingly well with Japanese food. Old world style wine.

Deep ruby in color. Medium- aromatic intensity. Strawberry, raspberry jam, oak, wet stone, tobacco. Medium+ body, medium/very fine tannins. Medium acidity. Nicely balanced, medium length, great intensity of flavor, some complexity. Very good to excellent wine. Excellent to drink now, could benefit from further aging.
