Luvaira Rossese di Dolceacqua Superiore
Silken and transparent. Red berried, delicately herbal and precise; like a super mineral cru Beaujolais, with a northern Italian inflection.

Oct 16th, 2024Awesome. Nose is ripe but full of fresh black cherry; cherry liquer, herbal notes, some bay. Beautiful red fruit acid driven wine with lots of minerals on the palate. Rossese has got to be the varietal find of the year for me. So lithe and pure and delicious. But I think this will develop for years.

Jun 1st, 2020Veronelli wasn't wrong at all in predicting the extraordinary aging potential of Rossese; and wasn't wrong in comparing its tertiaryzed finesse and elegance with some of the best Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The nose of this 2001 brought me straight to Chambolle: dried herbs, white pepper, brine, salt water. Super cool stuff for sure

Oct 22nd, 2014Really peppery and jammy. I dunno, not really into it and not sure I'd buy it again. More expensive version of a Kumusha red.
