1998 Fontodi Flaccianello - reluctant and a little stubborn at first but after two hours it opened up. Flavors of dried black cherry. - you can feel and taste the hot summer of 98 - tea leaves, cumin and pepper. Medium acid, body and powdery tannins. Starting to show its dirty earthy side which I enjoyed. Paired nicely with braised short ribs and polenta.
