Having this with a nice Brasato di Manzo. Lots of aged complexity. Nose has aged book library and mahogany scents, old leather, and deep cherry liqueur fruit underneath. Fruit is more prominent in the mouth, particularly with food. Very little tannin remains, and there is nice but gentle acidity.

Dark ruby core with a garnet/orange rim. Aromas of tobacco, forest floor, leather and ripe red and black fruit. Flavors of mushrooms, cranberry, black cherry and blackberry fruit on the palate with additional hints of cocoa powder and baking spices. Long, silky and smoky finish with extremely gentle tannins. Medium bodied (nicely aged) and a creamy texture. Thank you for sharing this one, Ron B! Revisited in September 2025. Outstanding wine.

Really opens up the second day after decanting. Recommended by the somm at Astor, this is straight up value for this ripe Nebbiolo.
