"Odedi"

Dark ruby in color with a brick/orange rim.

Still fruity on the nose with blueberries, cooked plums, strawberries, cherries, licorice, wood, vanilla, spices, cooked raisins, earth, leather, wet leaves and peppercorn.

Medium-bodied, elegant and velvety, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, strawberries, earth, light vanilla, leather, vegetables, pencil lead, spices, peppercorn, forest floor, vinaigrette and mint.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This eight year old Israeli Syrah is drinking very nicely now. Showing a great nose, much better than the palate. I smelled on it for a long, long time.

Probably peaked a year or two ago, but reminds me of a 20 year old Left Bank Bordeaux Red.

Now it is a conversation piece kind of wine, that you would drink and talk about.

Needed an hour to open up and remove the stinky nose.

Very enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers, but I really enjoyed it with Camembert. Very nice and tasty.

Thank you, Ghil, for this lovely gift.

100% Syrah grapes. Aged for 24 months in French and American Oak barrels. Unfiltered.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

89 points.
