Playing catch up with wine notes. 2018 Aubert Pinot Noir UV-SL - described by the winemaker as a masculine Pinot Noir, the UV-SL, is opulent in color, reflecting a tangible fullness across the palate. The vineyard’s proximity to the ocean is deceptive, as the notably warm climate allows the grapes to reach our optimal ripeness.
This medium to full bodied wine bursts with cherries and dark fruit on the palate. Easily one of the best California Pinots that I have had in a while. We popped and poured this one and it was stunning.
Maybe it’s just me, but 2018 Cali Pinots seem to be in a good place right now.
