Riserva 'Inu Cannonau di Sardegna

Remembering the good times in Sardegna with this bottle tonight. Dark, dusty Cannonau with a vinous side. Fleshes out with a couple hours of air. But pretty damn burley.

Pour of the evening in front of the last rugby game of the 2026 6 Nations tournament (what a game!). Almond, blackberry, licorice, smoke. This is not your typical grenache nose. The palate is showing some moderately powerful acid drive, it's full bodied, with an impressive width, some thick, concentrated matter, some nice fruity notes all along, a bit of an oaky, smoky touch, some tannins in the rear, giving a bit of a drying layer over a quite long blackberry, smoky, oaky finish with a bit of a bitter note in the end. It's quite structured, muscular and concentrated for a grenache but it's delivering a great tasting experience. Great pour!

Lt herbaceous, bubble-gum pop. Plump mouthfeel.

Very nice structured Cannonnau Riserva. All the characteristics are there, great drinkability and food friendly. Bit more open than last bottle about 10 months ago
