The wine was a puzzler to me. It seemed closed, not much in the initial nose. After 30minutes some merlot was apparent and some spice. But the tannic nature of the wine never really dissipated and it never really opened fully although hints of ripe fruit seemed to be edging through after almost an hour. Dumb period?
