Arterra Wines
Petit Verdot
Fourth wine from Arterra Wines. Deep and dark ruby red. Nose was coated with leather and black cherries. Palate was a bit sharp, definitely needs some bottle time but also covered in black and blue berries. Moderate tannins (7/10) with a solid acidity. Full bodied with a long finish. Next time we taste this, give it a couple hours in the decanter first. Drink till 2026.

May 26th, 2016This Virginian petit Verdot with Melissa and John in Winchester Virginia. Solid petit Verdot, just an underlying touch of oak to round out this great grape. The winery In Delaplane Va 20144, ferments it’s grapes on natural yeast and does not add any additional yeast to the fermentation process. Great wine, beautiful drinking wine with our salads sourdough bread and sheep’s milk Gouda from Spain. Yum!!!! Good times.

Feb 2nd, 2019A fine example of cool climate Petit Verdot. I wasn’t overpowered by green underripe flavors.
