Palate has red & black cherry, dried cranberry, green herbs, faint steely notes with nice acidity and mild tannins.
A brief, 1H decant helped to get this bottle moving tonight.
A fine pairing with home made pizza, a Wednesday night staple in our house.

Popped and poured. The 2019 Occhipinti “Il Frappato” is absolutely lovely right now. Bright, crunchy red and dark fruits with a touch of brettanomyces (but only just), rocky minerals, and some dried herbs for good measure. So fresh! Medium tannin and medium + acid. Finish is long. In a group with a mix of different palates and experience and a large line-up of wines, this was the first bottle emptied. Drink now and over the next 5-7 years.

Excellent example of Frappato. A chilled glass went perfectly with my pizza. Cranberry and earthy flavors, with smoke in the finish. A great pizza accompaniment.
