Golden-tinted, mineral water color. Smells faintly of pears and honey. Flavors are fennel, Meyer lemons and piña colada’s. It’s crisp and smooth somehow. Dry finish. Pairs great with a spinach, romanesco cream sauce over penne.
(I wrote this before I read the back label. It actually says Pineapple and ‘...on a smooth yet crisp finish’. I guess I have a bit of a mind meld with Kristina Mielke-Van Loben Sels, the winemaker who signed the notes).
