Corporate leadership training, London, January. One day our group decided to visit Jamie's Italian at Covent Garden. For such a evening, inspired by warm inter-personal atmosphere, multinational, multicultural... I was awarded with right to choose wine ;)
Alasia's BdA is powerful, harmonious, good structured. Considerable character due to 30 year-old vines and barrique plus barrels aging for 12 months.
Colour is dark ruby, of great depth. Violet hues.
Fruit fragrances (ripe black cherry, plum, raspberry) finely interwoven with peppery, earthy and even herbal hints.
Medium-bodied, juicy mouthfeel with rich texture, flavored by blackthorns, spices, plums, a bit smoky oak. Long tannic finish.
Paired fine our ultimate sharing plank and my 10-oz bone-in rib steak.
