Antolin Cellars
Estate Carmalady Carménère Malbec
Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, Oregon/Washington, USA
This one is labeled ‘Carmalady’, it’s 52% Carménère and 49% Malbec. It’s dark colored, but not quite a dark as I expected. Aroma has that definite tobacco scent. Berries too. Dark colored berries. Flavors are hearty and dense. Plenty of smoke. Acids are in the mix as well. It’s a fairly easy drinker considering the pedigree. But it’s a hint less complex than I’d expect. This is good stuff, just not extra.
