Dark red purple. Red apple, leather, and blueberry on the inviting nose and full-bodied palate. Moderate, velvety tannins. Medium low acidity makes it great match with spicy or peppery foods (black pepper crusted steak was my pair). And like others in its class, a very good cigar wine. Drink now through 2028.

Aged very nicely; full body & soft finish. Decanted with moderate sediment too.

Dec 5th, 2015For amarone fans, this will come across as young, harsh & watery. Very disappointing complexity of flavors, followed by the burn of a wine 1/3 the cost. Slightly sour aftertaste, accentuated by the thin watery texture.
