Dark fruits in a light package. Well balanced with lower alcohol and bracing acidity. Finishes with a black pepper note.

A great example of what cool climate syrah can be in CA, shows a spectrum of dark fruits. Hasn’t had a chance to develop much complexity yet, but it will with a few more years in bottle.

Already getting better than they were off the truck. A nice young syrah with lively acidity. Made in a more restrained style and shows great varietal characteristics.

A very young wine that shows great varietal character. Really opens up with an hour decant. This will improve with a few more years in the bottle but also a nice fresh wine if you’re thirsty now.

A bit more rustic, lots of traditional syrah character. Full of rust, meat, and earth and will continue to gain complexity for a few more years.

This impressive wine embodies an Old World pedigree with New World sensibilities. I want to be polite; I am frequently underwhelmed by California Syrah. However, reds from the Northern Rhone are among my favorite reds in the world. This wine manages to bridge the great divide for me. It has all of the lovely savory notes one expects from the Rhone accompanied by delicious blue and brambly fruits you find in New World. Sadly I only purchased two bottles. Hopefully I can find more.

needed time to open up & clear the barny aroma, then really nice.

Dense, ripe blue fruit, but soft and elegant palate. 2/3 whole cluster, shows lovely spice and savory qualities.
